Journalism 101: Know your facts (part 2)

“The Ottawa Senators have sent Gerber to Binghamton and may have a team that is interested in grabbing Gerber on Re-entry…Perhaps Carolina I was told.”
“Sens2006” quickly pointed out the following to eklund in his own forum:
“Seriously? Are you even trying any more? Seriously? Who ‘told’ you that your dog? Because it can’t be anyone plugged into hockey….
Gerber was already brought back up through re-entry waivers thursday to friday…. and when I say friday, I mean yesterday, like he cleared re-entry yesterday!!!! He’s been in Bingo for over a month and is being sent back down because no one picked him up on re-entry.
This site is dead next season: E5 (the only reason I still have a season ticket is that the site automatically renews it on your credit card, make sure you turn off the auto renew on you profile).”
And being the unprofessional that he is Eklund quickly deletes that part of the blog, but another member “StormCast” catches it and points out the following:
“What a shocker, Eklund. You get rightfully nailed by several posters for putting out of date info on Gerber that supposedly came from a source and what do you do? You delete the reference to it altogether.
Talk about irony after railing on the ethics of blogging.
Here’s a tip though. If you are going to play fast-and-loose and refuse to show edits on a blog, at least delete the reference to Gerber in your title since the blog now doesn’t mention him. It still reads “Devils Looking at Jokinen, Jay Bo Trade Increases, Pronger, Habs, Gerber “
So Mr. Sanctimony, let’s hear why you’d delete that info with no reference?”
