Seriously friend. wtf? I am delivering MAJOR news to you first. Do you have a problem with that? Isn’t that my job?

Here’s the thing that frustrates me:

Eklund made Julie. And by that, I mean that Eklund is the one who decided that he was going to make a “hockeybuzz star” out of her, whether his clients liked it or not. And he did so by overexposing the shit out her, even after it became painfully obvious to everyone that she doesn’t know very much about hockey, or certainly, not enough to write and “report” (I use that term VERY loosely) on it. In short, Eklund commodified her for the purposes of his website because she’s pretty and enthusiastic.

So now we’re in a position where this person, who’s been shoved in our faces on a daily basis, has, through her own actions, put herself in a position where people actually WANT to talk about her, albeit negatively, and now WE’RE the assholes?

people can be cruel without knowing ANY of the facts because people can be sheep led my a sensationalistic world. Julie’s life outside of hockeybuzz has ZERO to do with her work on hockeybuzz. I did not “make” Julie. I gave her an opportunity and she has worked amazingly hard to get to where she is.

Some people here can be gossiping little grandmothers who LOVE to hate. Julie is not that kind of person and yet it makes you all feel like big men because you can go at her from a distance based on something that you know NOTHING about. May someone never come into your world with one of your family members and slander them.

It is more important to me that we stay on topic in threads than repeat false crap about my friends so you can feel good about yourself. I get complaints everyday that people are not even reading the comments anymore because I let too much go when some of you go at me blindly. I can take it. “I don’t know to be completely honest. often I am given pieces and told where to look. Even getting this kind of information “off the record” is tricky. There are some sources that I have a strict NO OFF THE RECORD rule. 

Basically if a source tells you something off the record and doesn’t allow you to even write it should you verify it elsewhere it is a BAD thing for my purposes.

I would rather not know than have a rumor that i can’t write about. When this happens I am forced to just talk around it. 

This happened about a dozen times in recent memory. Twice when the deal went down, and if you go back and research it you will see very clearly that I knew, but couldn;t say.
