The Senators are looking at some “serious options” for Spezza. I would put the Kings and Oilers at the front of that, but also look to the Stars, Blue Jackets, Avalanche, and Predators, all of whom I have heard mentioned today with Spezza
Ok Scott Gomez is getting lots of interest. There was a time before the Mats saga ended when the Canucks were very interested. Go back to Gomez’s last year in NJ and the Flames had HUGE interest…Right now however it appears to be four other teams that are driving this: Dallas, Edmonton, Phoenix and Anaheim…
One source went a step further saying, “I wouldn’t rule out a scenario where Scott Niedermayer were to end up on Broadway as a part of a Gomez deal.
The major player in that deal would have to be Staal, but of course the Rangers would have to move money around as well…I am told that Prucha to Pittsburgh or Edmonton, and Rozsival to Dallas are possibilities. Those deals could happen, but the determining factor would be Marc Staal to start…But Dubinsky, Girardi, and some top picks will be included I am told.
The San Jose Sharks and the Dallas Stars are both interested in the Devils John Madden. Makes sense. He is a tough player to play against and in the Sharks case could be the difference in the epic Detroit playoff series to come. [link]
