Thanks to “-X-” for this catch: In one of his blogs yesterday, Eklund talked about which goalie Gainey would go with last night, citing “sources” saying it would be Halak. He then goes on to refer to how Gainey made a last minute switch last year in the playoffs to Halak.
Problem is, Gainey was not the coach last year….it was Guy Carbonneau.
** On a side note, it turns out his “sources” were wrong as usual….Carey Price started.

In his blog tonight, Eklund talked about the Canadiens being down 3-0 in games and whether they could come back. With his vast hockey knowledge he refered to last years playoffs and how the Bruins were down 3-0 and came back to force a game 7.
Only problem is Boston was never down 3-0, they won game 3 to make it 2-1.

Once again, Eklund shows his stupidity in his blog tonight. While ranting like his opinion actually means something, he refers to the Cammalleri cheap shot at Hossa, but last time I checked Hossa plays for DET and not CHI.
I mean come on…..this is not a simple spelling mistake, we are talkling about 2 completely different players in Havlat and Hossa and its not like Hossa ever played for Chi to explain his mixup. [view screenshot]

In his blog today, poor Eklund cant even get the name of Doug Risebrough correct. This is a Gm that has been with MIN for 9 years (since September 2, 1999)

You have to wonder what the fine people over at Versus.com are thinking when they see Eklund, who they partnered up with to cover the NHL playoffs, not even able to get the NHL playoff schedule correct.
In a post from Eklund from his forum, he gives INSIDER information that he “just heard”. But wait a sec… (1) there is no game tomorrow (its on Sat) and (2) next game is not at night (its a 1pm start). Here is a screenshot:
