None have anything to do with compensation for Brent Sutter, but I have heard the Flames are interested in the rights to Gionta and Oduya while the Devils have serious interest in Dion Phaneuf [source]

According to Damien Cox from the Toronto Star there is no such thing as compensation - So Eklund is wrong again! Maybe he could call his fellow journalist and sort this out.
“There is no such thing as compensation for coaches and executives in the NHL any more. No Michel Bergeron situations. Gary Bettman outlawed this kind of ransom fee a while ago.
You don't have to pay up with players and draft picks if you get the go-ahead to hire some other team's employee. They just don't have to let you do so. For example, the Maple Leafs wouldn't give the Wild permission to talk to Dave Nonis, but if they had, there would have been no compensation paid if Minny decided to hire him.”

Got to be one of the worst Dwayne Keith Klessel “rumours” EVER. Dion for 2 UFA's July 1st? As I posted in another Phaneuf “rumour” thread, anyone who even slightly follows or knows anything about the Flames KNOWS that Darryl Sutter loves Dion like another one of his kids. Dion will NOT be traded for Gionta, Oduya, Bouwmeester or anyone else this fucking bloated, washed up Kid Rock looking con man dreams up.
